First, I found 2 lovely floral hankies... (love the lily of the valley one!)
A few booths later, I found 3 monogrammed hankies. I'm pretty sure these are Madeira.Next I found 2 fabrics from the 1940's. One is about 4 yards and the other 5 yards!
And just before they started packing up for the day, I spied these wonderful feedsacks. They're all in really nice condition, too! The Hawaiian surfer/hula dancer one is so cute!
I'm afraid most of the outdoor flea markets around here will be winding down this month. :(
Hmmm...maybe its time to plan a road trip.
I hope everyone had a fun and safe weekend!
What pretty fabric you found.
ReplyDeleteLove the colors.
Thanks for sharing,
Rosemary
Those flora hankies are just gorgeous - love the colors and oh my, the monogrammed ones are just beautiful!

What fabulous finds! How sad when the Flea Markets wind down for the winter.
ReplyDeleteI love it all! The hankies are so sweet...

wow, you really licked out! what a beautiful blog!
ReplyDeleteI love the hankies. Mother always carried one to church. She had a way of folding the hankie in a triangle and rolling the ends together then folding over to make it appear to be two babies in a blanket. I'll never forget that. Kept me entertained when I was a toddler.
ReplyDeleteAlso...Granny made several feed sack dresses for me when I was a li'l 'n!

Beautiful fabrics!
ReplyDeleteI read your profile...do I remember correctly that there was a television production studio that had the tag line "sit, Ubu, sit" at the end of their shows?
Hope you have a great evening!
Karen
Me again...

Hi Karen,
ReplyDeleteLOL...No, you're not imagining it. :)
My husband and I use to watch one of the shows that ended that way when we were first married.
Ever since, he had his heart set on naming a dog, Ubu.
Even though we finally settled on a female chocolate lab, she was still Ubu.
Kimberly :)
I'm ooohing and aaaaahing over those purchases. The hankies are just amazing!
ReplyDeleteLove all your finds, esp. those floral hankies. Divine!

Gorgeous fabrics now what will you do with them?
ReplyDelete"...what will you do with them?"
ReplyDeleteSell them! :)
Well, I do keep about a half yard of the quilt fabrics for my personal stash, but then the rest go on the website.
Oh yeah! Great finds! You have the best flea markets in the mid-west! That's what I really miss about Cincinnati! xo, suzy
ReplyDeleteI love all the vintage fabrics you were so lucky to come across! The garage sales are starting to wind down around here as well, so my mum and I usually stock up on goodies to craft with and then visit the thrift stores to get our fix in the winter, as we anticipate the first garage sales in Spring. Hope you're enjoying your weekend!
ReplyDeleteWOW! you totally scored! The first hankies are gorgeous!!
ReplyDeleteLove your fabrics. How is your kitechen remodel going. What colors did you choose?

ReplyDeleteOur layout has changed more times than I can count. LOL
Tile is still up in the air, but we're leaning towards a tan/sea-green mix.
This could take awhile. :)
