Flea Market Fabric Finds

This past weekend Mom and I headed out to shop the Antique flea market in Lawerceburg, In. It stormed in the morning, so we weren't sure how many dealers would be there. It was definitely not as crowded as it would normally be, but a decent turnout given the downpour.

I was able to find several fabric goodies!
Two from the 1950's... This cool leaf print on gray, mid-weight cotton. And my favorite of the bunch, an awesome barkcloth with trees and leaves (or maybe they're figs?).I also bought a funky orange and yellow printed linen from the same dealer. I think this one dates to the 1960-70's.
And then just before leaving, I spotted two more cute fabrics at another booth. A 1970's poly/cotton red, white and blue mushroom floral.
And a tiny red strawberry print. It was a fun afternoon. Probably not near as fun as going to the Farm Chicks show, though. I've been reading all the blog posts about it and Wow! I have got to make plans for a road trip to the next one! :-)

  2. Great flea market finds! What fun. I like that gray cloth with the leaves. Many of those fabrics remind me of the clothes my mom used to wear and sew for us back in the 1970's.
