Vintage Locks, Magazines, and Matchbooks

This is another "Treasures From Grandma's Attic" post, as well as part of the Vintage Alphabet collections link party. This months letters are L and M, so I'll be showing vintage Locks, Magazines, and Matchbooks all found in my Grandmother's attic.

Let's start with the locks... First we have two old Eagle spring locks.

And here is a box of cute mini locks in different colors. Most are still wrapped in paper with their keys.

Now on to the "M"s...Matchbooks.

This pretty one is dated 1955.

And last but certainly not least, the vintage Magazines. A stack of LIFE Magazines mostly from the late 40's to the 60's.

I may need to do a whole post on this Fall Fashions issue from 1946. :-)

And there's a fun group of Saturday Evening POST , also from the 1940-1960's.

Be sure to stop by the Etsy Cottage Style Blog to see what other fun L and M collections are being shown.

  10. Hi Kim, Why Did Grandma have so many unused Locks? Those are so cute. They'd sure be cute on a chain with lock, key, heart as bracelet, necklace set;D Your magazines are sensational. They'd make wonderful wall art...framed intact not pulled apart. And the matchbooks! I remember Gray's Drugstores and the Pasquale's Pizza that was here in Sharonville..they closed up in the late 80's here.
    Wow, great letter post!

  11. Thanks everyone!
I'm very grateful that the blog gives me an opportunity to show off some of the cool and quirky items Grandma collected. In this small house, there just isn't a lot of room to display it all.

Melody, I don't know why she had so many little locks. It could have been because she traveled so much, she bought them to lock the suitcase zippers together...or more likely, they were something she received by sending in premiums, entering a sweepstakes, or through a rebate offer. LOL

    Kimberly :-)
