Treasures From Grandma's Attic ~ Vintage Pharmacy

Here's another installment in our "Treasure's From Grandma's Attic" series.
My grandma saved absolutely EVERYTHING! This made for quite a job when it was time to clean out and sell her house, but, we did find some wonderful treasures. :-)

Today I'm showing just a small collection of vintage drug store items.
Toothpick anyone?

hmmm...not sure what ailment sodium grain capsules were used for?

Have a great week, everyone!

wonder if the sodium tablets were the "cure-all" of the day. I love old tins.

What a treasure trove! Some of the old remedies are so interesting - I wonder if they really worked.

I like those vintage pharmacy items, they are so interesting and wow, your grandma must have had them for a very long time! What will you do with them? I can see them in a shadow box with compartments.

Literally from Grandma's attic .. wow! The Oral Sodium seemed creepy to me, so I Googled around and this is what I managed to glean: "Sodium Hexyl Ethyl Barbiturate, a Hypnotic with Phenacetin, an Analgesic" and "e deprresant" and "Sedatives and hypnotics causing adverse effects in therapeutic use." Yikes! A sleep aid, perhaps? Or muscle relaxant?

Wonderful finds. I love the old graphics in the advertisements.
The colors are always interesting too.
They will be fun to display.

What fun items to discover!
I have a thing for old toiletries, such as talcum powders, perfumes, and soaps. Would LOVE to have some that had belonged to my grandma!

Thank goodness for Grandma! It must have been great fun to discover these items amongst her belongings. They would look lovely displayed, maybe in the bathroom. x
