Flowers, Garden, Tote. That about sums it up.

OK, so the Easy Weekend Project has been missing for the last 2 weeks. Chalk it up to a yard in desperate need of my attention and a friend's special request for a summer tote for her Hawiian vacation.

I will have a project to share with you next week. But for now, here are pictures of the yard and the tote.

My friend wanted a bag that was bright, cheery, and tropical made with vintage barkcloth. Looking though my stash, it was a hard decision. One tropical print is prettier than the next...but I chose this gorgeous 1940's yellow number. I paired it with a Laura Ashley stripe and cream twill. I hope she likes it!

Oh wow!! Your yard is gorgeous and that bag is tremendous! Such great fabric choices and so much attention to detail. I love it when bags have great insides too. You are really inspiring me to go great guns tomorrow in my yard (and to think of another sewing project). Thank you for the inspiration!

Just found your blog tonight - darn, missed a great drawing I see by 1 day. :) I love your weekend projects - I do the same thing. I actually have empty painted frames waiting for the chalkboard transformation for my kids. Right now I am tackling all the ratty brown furniture I find & giving them a fresh coat of paint.
Looking forward to more on your blog!

Hi Kimberly, Thank you for your kind words. I am so glad you had such sweet poodles, too. It is wonderful that they lived to be 17 and 18! Pearl is four and I just know she will live that long! I must tell you again that your garden is so beautiful and looks so inviting, and I know your friend will love the beautiful tote you made her! Blessings, Paula
