So, last month on my trip to Virginia, I found some beautiful trims.
One in particular is so pretty, ( its that blue eyelet up there) I'm not sure if I'll ever find a project that's "worthy" of it. And I like it too much to sell it. hmmmm...what a dilemma.
Now, I have lots of white and cream eyelet trims that I've picked up at yard sales, so I was thinking, "why not try dying some of them?" And I did. Here they are in their color bath... 
The large piece is an eyelet border fabric with a white background; it turned out to be a sky blue color. And the small trim is cream ruffle eyelet, and it turned out to be a perfect robin's egg blue-green color!
If you're familiar with the Martha Stewart paint color 'Vintage Map', its very close to that. (Oh, BTW, that just happens to be the color I've picked out to repaint my sewing room).
I plan on dying more and listing some on the website. But really, its not hard at all if you want to give it a try yourself. A little messy though, so you definitely want to wear rubber gloves.

I am hoping you have not forgotten to wear rubber gloves while dying fabric. I know I have and paid for weeks with the color lingering on my hands LOL! LOVE how the colors turned out! Bravo! Can't wait to see more!!

Just lovely! Serendipity that it turned out the same colour as the paint you will use in your sewing room. What will you make with your newly dyed eyelet?

Okay so I am now in love with that paint color. I love the trim. I forget we live near each other. Do you live on the west side of town? So do you have any fun secret antiquing places? We should have met at Burlington. Are you getting ready for Lollishops?

Wow, I would have never thought of dying the trims...it looks so pretty in the robin's egg blue. I happen to love pink and that color together! :0)

I've been doing lots of tea staining lately and I've found that Magnolia Pearl's recipe is pretty good. She says to soak the item in water & fabric softner first. Seems to help hold the color. Now if I could just find the time to make all the pillows that my poor ragged sofas need =) Blessings... Polly
