Flea Market Fabrics!

The exclamation mark in the title is to convey my excitement.  :)
It seems like F O R E V E R since I've been to the Lawrenceburg (antique and vintage only) flea market.  Many of the scheduled weekends last year were rained out or conflicted with family events and I was sick for the first one of this year.  But Mom and I finally made it there this past Sunday.
It was a beautiful day and I was able to find several pretty fabrics.
Let's start with the one that did not make the group picture above.

It's a mid century modern rayon dress fabric with orange poppies...and there is over 7 yards! Love it!

I also found a couple of cute border print fabrics in pink.

And what I really like about these is that the pretty floral border is mirrored along the other selvage, too.

A couple of aqua quilt fabrics also came home with me.

And last but not least, a few rolls of pastel blanket binding...just because they were so pretty.  :)

So , although it wasn't the largest haul of fabrics, it was a nice start to flea market season for me.  What about you? Any good flea market finds lately?

Mid Century Barkcloth in Chartreuse!

I recently came across a wonderful piece of mid century modern barkcloth. It has a cool design of waves (or maybe they're claw marks?) on a chartreuse leopard spotted background! The name of the pattern is Aurora and is a Goldco Vat print according to the info on the selvage. I've had this design before in a green and a brown colorway, but I think this acid yellow or chartreuse is my favorite! Flea Market Fabric Finds

This past weekend Mom and I headed out to shop the Antique flea market in Lawerceburg, In. It stormed in the morning, so we weren't sure how many dealers would be there. It was definitely not as crowded as it would normally be, but a decent turnout given the downpour.

I was able to find several fabric goodies!

Two from the 1950's... This cool leaf print on gray, mid-weight cotton. And my favorite of the bunch, an awesome barkcloth with trees and leaves (or maybe they're figs?).I also bought a funky orange and yellow printed linen from the same dealer. I think this one dates to the 1960-70's.
And then just before leaving, I spotted two more cute fabrics at another booth. A 1970's poly/cotton red, white and blue mushroom floral.

And a tiny red strawberry print.It was a fun afternoon. Probably not near as fun as going to the Farm Chicks show, though. I've been reading all the blog posts about it and Wow! I have got to make plans for a road trip to the next one! :-)

Midcentury Barkcloth

I haven't done a slide show in a while, so I thought I would share some of my favorite midcentury modern fabrics.
