That 70's Fabric

I recently purchased some amazing fabrics from the 1970's.  Gorgeous brightly colored Flower Power designs:

...this pretty neon pink cotton sateen is my favorite:

These cute polka dot strawberry and turtle prints were in the bunch, too.

They sold out the minute I listed them, so they are already on their way to a new home.  But there is also this little turtle daisy print, (turtles must have been popular in the 70's) :)

And this cute strawberry ladybug fabric.  I think this one is just a bit older, maybe 60's.  It has a 36" selvage width and has the prettiest color combo of red, pink and aqua.

A Fold Over Clutch in 70's Brights

I was in the sewing room last week working on a custom order clutch. She loved the fold over design, but wanted something in bold bright colors. After looking at some fabric options, she chose a fun lime green daisy print from the 1970's. We paired it with a teal corduroy and a green print for the lining. I think it fits the bill for "Bright and Bold" and will be a fun bag for spring and summer.

Happy Vintage 60's Fabrics

I believe that it is physically impossible NOT to smile when you look at these fabrics. :-)
They are just Happy Fun prints! They all date to the 1960's -70's and sport cute daisies and flowers of all kinds.
Bright pinks and greens seem to dominate, but a pretty aqua blue makes a showing, as well.

I hope they brightened your day as much as they did mine. :-)

Red and Pink Vintage Fabric Color Combo

Today, as a follow-up to the Pink and Orange post, I'm showing some of my vintage fabrics in one of my favorite color combos...Red and PINK.

Naturally with these colors, we're bound to see a lot of florals...and I have plenty of them! Let's start there with some large bouquets and columns of roses and hollyhocks.

The smaller prints are cute, too.
Next, on top we have a gorgeous 1930-40's fabric, predominantly red with pink roses. And on the bottom, a fun mod floral from a vintage 60's bedspread. You might recognize this one from the living room makeover photos. This next group shows the last of the florals along with a cute geometric print and two fruit related designs.
A funky midcentury modern barkcloth depicting trees and buildings is perfect in this red/pink colorway!

And now we come to the kitchen linens and prints. The first two are pairs of kitchen curtains from my grandma's house. They look homemade, but never used (yep, that was just like gram).

Check out the adorable diamond oven mit in the bottom fabric. :)

And these are kitchen towels. Perfect for a retro vintage-themed kitchen.

Vintage Fabric Finds ~ 70's Daisies

I stopped by my favorite antique store today. The owner has a soft spot for vintage textiles and always has a nice stock of fabrics...I never leave empty-handed. :)

Today, it was all about these cute daisy prints from the 1970's. (Oh, and one fantastic 50's atomic-y print. I'll show you that last)

First we have this small piece of daisies with gingham strawberries and turtles...

Second we have blue on blue daisies with pink centers. There has to be 8 yards or more of this one!

Next, its reddish-orange daisies on a semi sheer, linen weave background. The fourth is gingham butterfies and daisies in that classic 70's color scheme of lime green and orange. And last but certainly not least, we have a very cool print most likely from the the 1950's. It has a selvage width of 36 inches and features purple and chartreuse squares on black. (colors are much better in person).

I love it when there's enough yardage to keep some for myself! The rest will be up on the website as soon as I get them photographed and inspected.
